Radiant Knight

Praise be to you, Eternal Light,
who reigns enthroned in heaven above.
Ready to humbly serve, your radiant knight,
you illuminate my eyes with love.

The sword of your Word in hand,
your righteousness encasing my breast,
with the shield of faith I make my stand.
Waist girded by truth, I face the test.

May my feet bear your good news readily,
may your breath blow me where it will,
for your peace dawns in me steadily,
and makes the depths within me still.

Lord of Light, lead me to the weak,
and extend to them your faithful shield.
Give me words of power to speak,
when I face the evil one in the field.

You alone are my highest calling,
who holds all things together,
and catches me when I'm falling.
Through you, I can endure all weather.

When under the shadow of death,
I search the darkness for Your light.
I long for the healing kiss of Your breath,
that renews my heart by Your might.

Enlighten my eyes with grace,
to see my neighbours like You do.
Lift Your countenance upon my face,
so they might see You in me too.
